This web site provides details on how to enter the math competition. The site is for students with an interest in both theoretical and applied math, including computer science. The site is part of the University of Toronto's "Learning to Learn" web site. "Learning to Learn" is a program for "learners, teachers, and researchers. It teaches the value of self-awareness as a critical part of learning." Resources for Math Teachers http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~mathed/t/T-index.html The listed resources were "produced at" Memorial University of Newfoundland "by students or faculty members." This web site has a lot of useful information for math teachers; however, the site's information on provincial curriculum is out of date and most of the links do not work. Statistical Society of Canada (SSC) -- Bilingual http://www.ssc.ca/ "The mission of the Statistical Society of Canada is to encourage the development and use of statistics and probability." The SSC's web site includes listings of meetings, publications, members and employment opportunities. University of Toronto Mathematics Network (MathNet) http://www.math.toronto.edu/awilk/MathNet/ MathNet is for "Southern Ontario high schools and math clubs, University of Toronto mathematical science departments, and anyone interested in mathematical ideas and activities." This web site includes information about math programs and competitions. Word Problems For Kids http://www.stfx.ca/special/mathproblems/ SchoolNet sponsors this well-designed web site. The site provides math problems for students from grades five to twelve. St. Francis Xavier University hosts the site. |
